What Are Some of The Requirements For Weight Loss Surgery?
You may have heard of Bariatric surgery as a medical treatment for severe overweight condition. One of the qualification requirements is your body weight. You should also have been subjected at least six months in structured weight loss programs monitored by your doctor but have shown little or no progress in losing weight. Medical conditions that can be improved with weight loss are also one of the criteria for Bariatric surgery. If you possess one or more of these conditions including arthritis, bladder weakness, diabetes, heart problems, high blood pressure or hypertension, high cholesterol, and sleep apnea, then you may qualify for the surgery.
You should also be well informed about the surgery and lifestyle changes for recovery. By doing this, you must have a good understanding and accepting the possible risks involved with the weight loss surgery.
If you are alcoholic or have other chemical abuse issues, have active liver disease, have untreated psychiatric condition, have correctable cause of obesity like a thyroid disease, unable to comply with the instructions and program guidelines, have unstable eating pattern related to medications, and have uncontrolled binge eating disorder or other untreated eating disorder, then you are not qualified for any Bariatric surgery.
